Do You Have Too Much Debt for a College Student
Do You Have Too Much Debt for a College Student via Pexels.com 1. How many credit cards do you have? We all know what it means to build credit pay your bills on time, utilize a certain percentage of your credit allowance, make consistent payments (that are more than the minimum), and restrain from opening more than one credit card before youve established a career with a monthly income. If youre a college student and you have more than one credit card think again. Its not the right time in life to have that many lines of credit before you have a steady, monthly income. Its hard to restrain from opening multiple credit cards. As soon as you step foot on a college campus as a freshman, companies are coming after you to open up a credit card with them preying on the fact that youre young, inexperienced, and impulsive. If you fall for their tactics, youll soon owe thousands of dollars in credit card debt on top of the thousands you probably already have in student loans. 2. Are you paying your bills on time? If youve gotten yourself in a situation where you cant pay your bills when theyre due, and youre waiting until your next paycheck comes in, its likely that youve gotten yourself in a situation where youre too far in debt. Not only do you need to make sure you can pay your bills, but you should make sure you can pay them on time. If you cant, youre too far in debt. 3. What amount of student loans is too much? If youve taken out student loans (which its pretty likely that you have), you might be feeling nervous about how youre going to pay them back. So what amount of student loans is more than necessary? According to US News, it all depends on your anticipated salary once youve finished school. If youre going into a field where youre only going to make about $40K per year, its probably not smart to take out $100K in student loans. Its all relative, my friend. via Pexels.com 4. Whats your car payment/housing situation? If you decided to go out and buy a new car, making payments on it with your student loan refund for the semester, youre probably not making good financial decisions. The best thing you can do for yourself while youre in college is save as much money as you can. This includes the decision you make about where and how youre going to live. Sure, we all want a one-bedroom apartment downtown, but is that really necessary? Its financially smarter to rent an apartment with multiple roommates in order to keep your monthly payments down. Yes, roommates are annoying but at least youre saving half of what you would be spending on a one-bedroom by agreeing to set some strong boundaries and live your best life with multiple roomies. 5. What habits are you setting now, as a young adult, that will follow you through the rest of your life? If youre allowing yourself to buy things impulsively, stack up the amount of money you owe in credit card debt, and overwhelm your bank account with bills, you arent setting yourself up for success in the long run. In fact, if you think about the absolute necessities that you need now, while youre in school, its a) crappy food, b) a bit of fun money, and c) a lot of time to dedicate to your studies. Its unnecessary for you to impulsively buy things you want when youre in school. Youre likely not making very much money (if any at all). So while youre in school and roughing it is the norm, go without the things that you think you need and settle on having just the necessities. Refrain from opening up credit cards with every company that approaches you during your first week on campus. Only set up automatic withdrawal for the bills you know you can afford, and stay away from shopping sprees until you have a steady income. While youre at it, check out some benchmarks you should plan on meeting if youre going to be able to retire comfortably. The earlier you start, the more likely you are to be comfortable in retirement. Instead of spending every last penny you have now, wait and reward yourself as a 65-year-old with a huge stack of dollars in your bank account. Instead of being impulsive about things you want now, while youre in college focus on the future.
Chemistry Tutoring - A Few Tips For Learning Chemistry
Chemistry Tutoring - A Few Tips For Learning ChemistryChemistry tutoring, as with most things, is not going to be made simple by a one-size-fits-all approach. These methods are tailored for the individual needs of the student, and it can become confusing for a chemistry student if they are not familiar with the terminology or the methods. Chemistry tutors will often have specific requirements regarding the skills they require their students to possess. One of the most important areas to consider when doing chemistry tutoring is the student's level of understanding of chemistry. While most students are familiar with basic mechanics, it can be helpful to include further subjects such as thermodynamics, chemical bonding, electron microscopy, and the periodic table, as well as familiarize them with some of the chemical elements. It is important to discuss these topics with a tutor in detail before the process begins so that the student is more than willing to learn. If the student is unabl e to discuss their knowledge with the tutor, there is a tendency to ask their teacher's discretion. Teachers are usually more hesitant to let their students venture off-the-cuff questions about topics that are not related to the textbook topic. The teacher's first inclination may be to simply turn down this request, because in the end it will cause more disruption in the classroom.Learning chemistry requires students to be creative. In general, it is not an easy subject to learn, but that does not mean that chemistry can't be learned. At times, people turn to chemistry tutoring to help them apply what they have learned to solve problems. In some instances, teachers are reluctant to provide tutoring if the student does not have an assignment that they need help with. For example, many teachers might feel uncomfortable advising students to get paid work done in school that involves chemistry, especially if it is considered to be an advanced class. It can be advantageous for a teacher to introduce the concept of chemistry to their students, whether they have a textbook or if they are taking classes on the subject in school. Asking the student to help with homework can often motivate them to want to learn more, which will eventually make the chemistry class seem less daunting. It is important to remember that chemistry tutoring is not something that can be taught by just the teacher. It is important to encourage the student to take the initiative to learn chemistry, because without their willingness to learn, the result will be a dead end.

5 Famous Singers Who Failed Big Before They Made It
5 Famous Singers Who Failed Big Before They Made It Suzy S. Dreaming about making it big as a singer? Developing a thick skin and learning how to persevere is key the road ahead isnt always easy! Even the most successful singers today had to start somewhere. In this guest post by Corona, CA teacher Milton J., learn how to become a famous singer by drawing inspiration from these success stories As a budding musician and singer myself, you and I have something in common â" we both love to share our vocal gifts with those willing to listen. However, how do we feel when some people are just not willing to listen? How do we keep our confidence up and turn our audience into fans? We can draw our inspiration from some of the music industryâs most successful artists who, just like us, had similar setbacks on their road to stardom. Despite the setbacks, though, they all persevered to become the famous singers they are today! Lady Gaga Lady Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, was a child piano prodigy and began performing in New York jazz and supper clubs as a teenager. Initially signed by L.A. Reid for Def Jam, her subsequent demos from her debut album did not impress her new boss, who labeled her new music âdisgusting.â Gaga spoke on this event, stating, They would say, This is too racy, too dance-oriented, too underground. Its not marketable. And I would say, My name is Lady Gaga, Ive been on the music scene for years, and Im telling you, this is whats next. And lookI was right. Lady Gaga clearly knew how to become a pop star, and after her prompt dismissal from the label, she lined up with Akons Konvict Music and had the freedom to write and perform to her heartâs content. Madonna It seems as though Gaga is the apparent heir to Madonnaâs pop trailblazing career, so itâs no coincidence that Madonna dealt with the same adversity decades earlier. After graduating from high school in Michigan, Madonna received a dance scholarship to the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre Dance. After convincing her father to allow her to take ballet lessons, she was persuaded by her ballet teacher to pursue a career in dance, dropped out of college in 1978, and relocated to New York City. She worked as a Dunkin Donuts waitress and danced with modern dance troupes, continuing to perfect her craft while trying to make ends meet. It was the first time Id ever taken a plane, the first time Id ever gotten a taxi cab, she once said of her move to New York. I came here with $35 in my pocket. It was the bravest thing Id ever done.â After collaborating with bands The Breakfast Club and Emmy, she eventually decided to market herself as a solo act and recorded demos to send to record labels in New York City. Madonna was famously rejected by Millennium Records President Jeremy Ienner, known for productions of such hits as Dirty Dancing and Sister Act. He stated that while he enjoyed some of her music, she was ânot ready yetâ and he would âpass for now.â This rejection motivated Madonna to continue making music with club DJ Mark Kamins, who at the time was working with Seymour Stein of Sire Records. Kamins gave Stein a demo of Madonnaâs work while Stein was in the hospital, and he insisted Madonna come to the hospital immediately so he could sign her to his label. In an interview, Stein remembered what it was like to meet Madonna: âI always believed in her, because not only did she have talent, but she had a burning desire, drive, ambition, and a work ethic that is incredible. So, she had everything and I saw that in my hospital room.â And a whole list of others Some of our best recent vocalists and bands come from the reality singing competition reject lines. American Idol, X Factor, and The Voice may rule the ratings on television, but they do not necessarily dictate talent and success. Hillary Scott, of Lady Antebellum fame, did not make it to the judgesâ round to see Randy, Paula, and Simon. Colbie Caillat met the same fate while singing her future lead single âBubblyâ for the judges. Later, she would state, âI was shy. I was nervous. I didnt look the greatest. I wasnt ready for it yet. I was glad, when I auditioned, that they said no.â Inevitably, she found success by channeling that rejection into a chance to get better and come into her own as an artist. Jordin Sparks, winner of American Idols sixth season, was actually rejected in her first audition and won a radio station contest to re-audition in a different city. Additionally, just last year, she was dropped from her label RCA due to delays from the executive team and recently signed to Salaam Remiâs new label Louder Than Life, with her album coming in May 2015. Even show winners have faced setbacks. The Sing-Off winners and reigning a cappella music leaders Pentatonix was dropped after Sonyâs Epic Records folded and only came back to Sony â" this time with Madison Gate, owned by Sony â" after their covers began to go viral on YouTube. After their debut album, they would leave Madison Gate for RCA due to their desire to release more original music than merely covers. This industry is indeed for the strong-willed and the bounce-back types, and these artists figured that out long before they were famous. Whatâs more, however, is learning from the sure-fire rejection that is bound to come. Not everyone will like your singing and your performance, but if you push forward and continue to work on getting better at singing every single day, you can turn your love for singing into a career. It is true our worst critics can be ourselves, but the right vocal teacher can help bring the absolute best out of you! With the right attitude, your potential is endless! Build Your French Vocabulary What Do You Do For Fun
Build Your French Vocabulary What Do You Do For Fun Sign up successful Check out the list below for some common words and phrases used when describing what you do for fun: French Vocabulary for Activities We Enjoy Whether relaxing at the beach, catching up on our favorite TV shows, or going on a family vacation, we all have activities that we love and enjoy. Here are a few French vocabulary terms to describe common activities many of us enjoy. Regarder la télé ? Watch television Parler au téléphone ? Talk on the phone Lire ? To read Faire de lâéquitation ? Go horse riding Faire de la natation ? Go swimming Faire du sport ? Do sports Voyager ? Travel French Vocabulary For Activities We Dont Enjoy However, there are also things we hate doing or rarely do. While some of us may like faire les magasins (to go shopping), others of us hate it. Some of us love sortir avec les copains (to go out with friends), while others prefer to spend time alone. Either way, we all have activities that we just donât like doing. Check out some examples below: Faire le ménage ? Housework/chores Faire de devoirs ? Do homework Ãtudier ? Study Jouer au golf ? Play golf Faire du jogging ? Go jogging Using French Vocabulary in Context When it comes to the activities we enjoy or donât enjoy, in French, we always put Jâaime ou je nâaime pas (I like or I donât like) before the activities that we either enjoy or donât enjoy. For example, maybe tu aimes danser (you like to dance), but tu nâaimes pas écouter de la musique (you donât like to listen to music). Or, maybe tu aimes jouer au foot (you like to play soccer), but tu nâaimes pas jouer aux cartes (you donât like to play cards). Here are some more examples: Jâaime sortir avec les copains. â" I like to go out with my friends. Vous aimez voyager ou faire du sport? â" Do you [formal] like to travel or do sports? Elles nâaiment pas étudier. â" They [girls] donât like to study. Il nâaime pas faire les magasins. â" He doesnât like to go shopping. Nous aimons chanter. â" We like to sing. Elle nâaime pas tellement jouer au tennis. â" She doesnât really like to play tennis. Jâaime surtout fair du ski nautique. â" I especially love to water ski. Ils nâaime pas beaucoup faire de la photo. â" They [boys or boys and girls] especially donât like to take photos. Additionally, if you want to ask someone if they like to do something, you just say, Est-ce que vous/tu aimez/aimes⦠(Do you like toâ¦), and then add in the activity. For example: Est-ce que tu aimes jouer à des jeux video? (Do you [informal] like to play video games?) Est-ce que vous aimez faire de lâathlétisme? (Do you [formal] like to do athletics?) Describing How Often You Perform an Activity If you want to mention how often you do any activity, here are some French vocabulary words to describe the frequency with which you perform a particular activity. Jamais ? Never De temps en temps ? From time to time/occasionally Souvent ? Often Rarement ? Rarely Tous les jours ? Every day ____ fois par semaine ? ____ times a week Une fois/deux fois/trois fois par semaine ? Once/twice/three times a week Quelquefois ? Sometimes For the most part, these frequency words and phrases come after the verb and before the activity itself. For example: Je ne fais jamais du sport (I never play sports) or Je fais souvent de la natation (I often go swimming) or Je joues quelquefois au foot (I sometimes like to play soccer). However, de temps en temps and ___ fois par semaine go at the end of the sentence. For example: Jâaime écouter de la musique de temps en temps (I like to listen to music occasionally) or Jâaime faire du jogging deux fois par semaine (I like to go jogging twice a week). Now that you know how to talk about the activities you like and donât like doing, time for some devoirs. If you want your French to improve, you have to practice. So, how about writing down what you like to do and how often you do it in French. Then, say what you donât like to do and how often you do or donât do those activities. Amazing Physics Facts Fun Facts for Physics Appreciation ChaptersInteresting Physics Facts About Your PhoneCool Physics Facts About WaterPhysics Fun Facts About PeopleA lot of learners dread studying physics simply because it represents the marriage of two most-feared school subjects: maths and science. But, like every marriage, there are both lighthearted and more difficult aspects and, like most who make committed relationships work know, focusing on the lighter side is often what makes the darker times bearable. In that spirit, your Superprof now presents you awesome, amazing, cool, fun, neat and nifty facts of physics; aspects of this very serious science that make it so intriguing to so many.Hire a Physics and Maths tutor S1 to help you appreciate science even more.Hopefully, by the end of this article, you too will be hooked!Nor can you tap to play your fav video with gloves on unless you have those special gloves that permit the conduit of ions through the knit.Another nifty physics fact related to phones: they make use of Einsteinâ s Theory of Special Relativity.GPS navigation depends on the very factors that comprise our most renown theoretical physicistâs superbly elegant formula: energy, mass and speed (time).Unnoticed by you, your phone is under constant scrutiny by a minimum of four precisely calibrated satellites that measure the distance youâve travelled between exactly-timed signal pulses and apply your positioning on known maps.Look for the best Physics Maths tutor in Birmingham. You may well turn off your phoneâs location services but your positioning data goes on regardless.Harvesting that data is one reason why Google is in such hot water just now!You may want to consult a physics glossary for some of these terms...Water slows the speed of light, meaning looking at anything through a glass of water will resort in distortion Source: Pixabay Credit: 95839Cool Physics Facts About WaterBeing as we just mentioned water, weâll dive right into this life-sustaining substance to discover surface te nsion and light refraction. But first, a question: who doesnât enjoy a refreshing gelatin dessert?Maybe not right now, when chill winds blow and winter storms threaten... letâs think back to summer when the heat was unbearable...Who among gelatin dessert lovers has not tapped their spoon on their treat, just to watch it wriggle but not yield? That phenomenon is called surface tension: when the outer surface of a body functions as an elastic membrane. The concept of surface tension is quite separate from flotation, which implies the object floating in the substance is more buoyant than the substance itself.Wood, for example, is much less dense than water, permitting it to float. However, should a tree branch floating in the river absorb enough water, it would become heavier and eventually sink.Gelatin has a relatively high surface tension, meaning you have to dig into your dessert rather than skimming across its surface, as you might with ice cream.Look up for maths physics tutor now.Water has the amazing property that, while being a cohesive body, each water molecule has surface tension! That is why, when you look through a glass of water, the image is distorted more so than if you looked through the glass alone. It has to do with water slowing down light: by the time it reaches your eye, you are not getting the whole picture. When light passes through water, its protons are only travelling at 3/4 speed. That doesnât mean that classical physics is wrong: light does travel fast... under vacuum. If you filled the Large Hadron Collider with water and shot a beam of light through, it would travel much slower! Now, letâs talk about a body of water that has no more surface tension than any other, yet is denser than any on earth. The Dead Seaâs salt content is such that, although you canât see the salt crystals swimming around in the water, they render that body so dense that an average human cannot sink!Which begs the question: why do drowning bodies sink and th en float back up to the surface?Find a Physics Maths tutor in London. The cause of drowning is taking water into the lungs, which makes the body heavier than the water. As the body decomposes, it fills with gas, making it lighter than water. What a gruesome idea! One last, most famous example of how water helped advance discovery: Archimedes and his bathtub. He was tasked with calculating whether crown makers had cheated the king by mixing silver with the gold the king had provided for his new crown, but he was not allowed to melt the crown in order to test its contents.Pondering the problem as he got in his bath, he noticed that the water level rose in exact proportion to his bodyâs volume. Thus, he reasoned he could submerge the crown in question, measure the waterâs displacement and calculate the density of the crown.Gold is far denser a metal than silver, as you may know.So excited by his postulate was he that he completely forgot he was nearly in the bath â" not a stitch of clothing on. He ran thus through the streets, shouting âEureka!â - the ancient Greek equivalent of âIâve got it!âLearn more about Archimedes' Principle, along with other key concepts in physics! We could be condensed to just elementary particles, meaning that all of humanity could be one very heavy lump of sugar! Among others, black holes, dark matter and Hawking radiation.Did you know that the entire human race could be condensed into something the size of an ordinary sugar cube?We are all made up of atoms: protons, electrons and neutrons... and a whole bunch of empty space between them.If we were to remove that space in every human body, all of humanity would be as large as a cube of sugar, but it would be incredibly heavy because it would be extremely dense! That means that the theory behind the exploration of the quantum realm in Ant-Man and the Wasp is valid but the visuals arenât: shrunken cars, buildings and people would be too heavy to pick up with just one hand.Space has the same space issue: what we can see comprises only about 5% of the whole universe.Itâs not that we need better telescopes or equipment; itâs just that most of what the universe is made up of is space... filled with dark energy and dark matter.Perhaps that dark energy is what keeps virtual particles popping in and out of existence.Next time you pour yourself a glass of cola or other carbonated beverage, consider the life cycle of one bubble: it forms seemingly out of nothing, rises to the top and pops, releasing its tiny, gaseous load. The same thing happens in space, a phenomenon known as quantum foam. It stands accused of constantly breaking the laws of physics... but nobody knows why their doing so doesnât affect other aspects of cosmological events or balance. And then, there are black holes. The general relativity theory predicts that a sufficiently compact mass, perhaps one with all of the space sucked out from its atoms as described above, can deform spacetime and cause such a gravitational pull that nothing, not even light, can escape it.The late, great investigator of cosmic phenomena, Stephen Hawking, not only postulated that black holes emit radiation but that they retain the trace memory of every cosmic event that falls into them. That concept is more famously expres sed by our favourite fictitious Doctor, who can see everything there ever was and everything that ever will be.A more real Doctor, Mr Hawking's last public engagement discussed gravitational waves resulting from the collision of two neutron stars, a boon for astrophysicists! You donât have to be Sheldon, Leonard or Raj â" or Stephen Hawking to appreciate theoretical physics and our universe, and you donât need to be Howard to love the science behind statistical mathematics, electricity and magnetism. So much for actors playing physicists; how about real physicists and their discoveries? You only need to recognise that you are the embodiment pure physics: full of electricity and magnetism, with a dash of uncertainty principle thrown in.Now that you are comforted and enthused about physics, you only need to decide your undergraduate field of study:solid state physicsquantum electrodynamicsmathematical physicsnuclear physicsthermodynamicsapplied physicsparticle physicsAnd let us not forget the emerging role of women in physics!Ladies, you too can learn all about physics: how do experimental physics or quantum physics sound to you?
